The Last Word: Developing the Smart Grid

0 peeps love me

Smart Grid is once a myth. But now, inshaAllah it is coming into reality in Malaysia, and TNB is embarking a wide step towards deployment of smart grid system in Peninsular Malaysia. As of current , it is still at research stage. However 3 places have been identified as test bed areas for smart grid implementation. Smart grid is really cool and could help a lot a utility company in managing energy demands effectively and tapping to greater extent the renewable energy resources.

I found this great article about smart grid from Renewable Energy.com.

Daurah Imam Shafiee Part 1 Shah Alam

0 peeps love me

Alhamdulillah, all praise goes to Allah who grants my wish to attend the Islamic mini seminar today in Shah Alam and thus makes my weekend so much fulfilled, inshaAllah. It`s been a while since I attended last course on Islamic knowledge...i think it was in August and the seminar was about Palestin and Israel. As of late, my weekends were full of attending wedding receptions and balik kampung. So now i guess I`m back on track, inshaAllah. Our body needs food to remain functional; likewise, our soul also needs its fuel, which is the beauty words about Islam and its teaching, without which it makes our hearts ill, just like insufficient food makes our body suffers. This invisible food needs replenishment with the same frequency of that visible food we fill our stomachs with.

The course that I attended today was titled " Prinsip-prinsip Beragama Imam Shafiee" and it was delivered by two scholars originated from Indonesia. It was organized by Perniagaan Bushra and delivered at Al Madinah International University, Shah Alam. Before I delved into gist from course, I would like to introduce the venue where this course was held. University Al Madinah International is a new IPTS, and located at 11th Floor, Plaza Masalam, Section 9. I forgot the launching date, but it is not so long ago, and it has only small number of students in which 90% of them are Africans. Of course it has nothing to do with Madinah University in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

My Precious RM300 gone Paying for the 'Saman' Trafik

0 peeps love me

I`m not sure if government has decided to extend the discount for traffic fines beyond Dec 15. Previously they have announced that beginning Dec 1, all drivers who have yet to pay their summonses are entitled for 50% discount and it would be effective only until 15th Dec.Afterwards, only 30% of discount will be given until Februray 2011, before they will be blacklisted and hence, not be able to renew their road tax.Well, for people like me who have 4 traffic tickets, it is the best time for me to settle them out

Long queue at police stations is a normal scene from the day the discount was announced. For those with internet access, they can pay it via MyEg or rilek.com. But, hey since >50% of Malaysians are internet connected, high traffic into the page has brought the server down underwater.Left with no choice, I had to resort to do it in conventional way: Set my foot to police station

I have 4 tickets altogether: speeding, blocking path, violating red light, illegal parking. That sums up to total before discount of RM560!. Since the speeding and red light fines are discounted, the new total figure is reduced to only RM310! I have paid up the amount and now I can release a big relief sigh!Alhamdulillah. But still, RM300 gone just like that! If only such money was used for sedeqah ke huhu. Lesson to me to take driving to fullest heed

Feed in Tariff, Make Money from It, Go Green!

0 peeps love me

Currently in the buzz concerning energy sector in Malaysia, is the soon-to-be-implemented Feed in Tariff (FiT).As an Energy planner, i`m in the loop and support this

Malaysian citizens are to be imposed with this new tariff should everything go as planned.FiT forms part of Renewable Energy Act, scheduled to be tabled before Parliament by year-end and expected to come into force by next year. So now...what is feed in tariff? Feed in tariff is a special tariff imposed by government as a mechanism to boost and accelerate the development of Renewable Energy sources in Peninsular. Feed in Tariff (FiT) is a mechanism adopted by many countries and it has successfully accelerated the RE generation. How it works? Under FiT, individuals and power companies will be able to sell electricity generated from RE sources such as solar, biomass, biogas, mini hydro, etc back to the grid. TNB as the main utility company will buy this generated energy at premium prices , or above-market prices for a specific duration. This would serve as a great incentives for people to invest. Even us, the ordinary person can make money you know! Where does TNB get the funding for this?

Ready for the last breath?

1 peeps love me
I found that this heart breaking song delivers clearly its message on the vital need to remember death frequently by UNGU.

Andai kutahu
MalaikatMu kan menjemputku
Izinkan aku
Mengucap kata tobat padaMu

Aku takut
Akan semua dosa dosaku
Aku takut
Dosa yang terus membayangiku

Manners, Please!

0 peeps love me
First declaration to make here is that, I am fully aware that I neither possess most upright characters nor I am among highly well mannered ladies. However I still know where is the 'bottomest' line that I should never cross, inshaAllah.
I and my unit had a meeting with the Singapore MHI Sale Manager last week. The sale manager came to our office with the intention to introduce his company, and services that it offers. Since Malaysia has announced its plan to go for nuclear power, this sale manager specifically promoted the nuclear related equipment manufactured by MHI. Okay, a bit about MHI.
