Chinese & UAE Delegation

0 peeps love me

Last week, for the whole week, I was the only Generation Planning Enginner in office. Well, my big boss En Md Nor was there too, but the main task executor was me because i`m the labourer (hahaha). Din off to Vienna for 2 weeks, and others had course at ILSAS for the whole week. So..what was going on for the past week? Initially, I thought of finishing up (or at least starting) the big(well..mediumly difficult)task given by En Yus the week before Din left to Vienna. The task would take at least a week to finish it, and I was thinking of gaining momentum to kick start it last week, but looked like nothing has progressed. Well the reasons lie in some ad-hoc tasks received last week from GM and En Md Nor himself. On Tuesday while i was warming up all nerves to kick that task out, the GM called me and asked me to prepare slide presentation as China delegation was coming over last Friday. It wasn`t much, just a presentation on overview of TNB power systems. I could just copy and paste slides from other presentation. And of course some touch-ups here and there. Alhamdulillah i took 1 day to have that ready and another 1/2 for some corrections as pointed by GM.

And last Friday, just after to my surprise that En Yus and Fairuz showed up while I was supposed to see them at least on Monday, the China people did arrive and also the presentation went on as scheduled. En Yusoff did deliver the presentation. The best thing is..there was a translator! Exclusively from TNB and also from their side. I thought the Chinese people know English, but turned out they don`t. So after 1 speaking 10 words, En Yusoff stopped and the translator did his translation job. Then En Yusof resumed. Then the translator resumed too. So the presentation that could take only 20 minutes lasted for ~ 40 minutes due to double language delivery. You know..for audience, it looks like exhausting moment because of double language delivery. The audience kept back and forth between English and Chinese. I enjoyed it somehow but at certain moments it seemed tiring.Owh forgot to mention, I was the slide coordinator. Haha. During Q & A session, the Chinese delegation asked a strings of questions regarding TNB power system. Before the MC invited the speaker, and of course the translator to the front, they have already attacked with questions non stop. But it wasn`t that bad,big thanks to the translator whom i think was so efficient in getting the questions, and translating them back in English. His English is good i think. The session ended after 40 minutes of presentation and 1 hour Q & A. I noted down almost all questions and it was almost 30 questions! According to VP, even though there was translations which made the session went slower, however it was so fruitful discussion with all questions posed by them.

So today, we had another guest, and bad thing is it`s so last minute notice from Corporate Comm. Even though only 2 UAE people; preparation should be done with at least presentation materials. So the VP did ask me to recycle the presentation slides made for Chinese people with title be removed. The UAE people came here seeking opportunities for investment in RE and consultation service.

It comes from our attitude

0 peeps love me

I was listening to IKIM motivation slot this morning, and the topic for today was 'Sikap' or attitude i would say. Ustaz was talking about how our sikap would determine our future actions and destiny.

Everything that we do has its root all the way to our attitude. For example, if we have lazy attitude, then no matter how smart and skillful we are at something, it will come to a futility as the main prime mover is not there to start with. Prime mover is our willingness, devotion and commitment to pursue and accomplish our goals/ targets. Everybody can devise a target, goal but when is it gonna be materialize? How long? The answers lies in our attitude to see the accomplishment. If our attitude is always passionate and eager, then inshaAllah whatever tasks that we have on our shoulder, we`ll be doing it successfully. Even if our skills or talents are not there, success and luck could be on our side if our attitude towards it is strongly positive, inshaALlah.
